AN EDUCATIONAL WAY TO LEARN AND ENGAGE IN THE PRESERVATION OF REGIONAL BIODIVERSITY
REGEIA is a design project that aims to promote independent learning about local fauna and flora through hiking. It also encourages travelers to actively engage in the preservation of regional biodiversity.
The device is made of aluminum, ensuring durability and resistance to corrosion and wear. Equipped with e-ink screens interfaces suitable for high-altitude environments, it is portable and energy-efficient, with a battery life lasting several weeks.

Fun and suitable for all ages, REGEIA operates through a system of beacons marked by benches along GR hiking trails, which gradually unlock information about biodiversity as the hike progresses.

WHAT ARE THE ESSENTIALS ?

During their vacations, travelers often prioritize non-sportive activities, as holidays are associated with relaxation. However, many enjoy hiking for its accessibility and moderate difficulty, offering both physical exercise and mental detachment for introspection.

As an easy-to-access sport, hiking should be clear and well-guided for all. Most travelers prefer self-guided challenges, even at the risk of getting lost, while others find guides reduce stress and provide valuable information that is often missing on trekking routes, such as water points, difficulty levels, and local species.

Moreover, given the natural context, hiking trails face environmental challenges like weather and deforestation, making signage visibility and readability inadequate.
